Welcome to Flourishing Faithfully.
I’ve wanted to create something like this for a long time.
The exact shape of it wasn’t always clear to me, but the underlying idea was: I wanted a place where I could talk honestly about faith, personal growth, and what I’m learning as I continue becoming who the Most High created me to be.
Eventually, that idea became Flourishing Faithfully.
And I’m really glad you’re here. ❤️
Why Flourishing Faithfully?
The name came from something I’ve wanted for myself for years.
I don’t want to spend my life merely getting through it.
I want to flourish.
That doesn’t mean I expect every season of my life to feel good. I’ve lived long enough to know better than that. 😆
I’ve experienced wonderful things.
I’ve also experienced disappointment, uncertainty, grief, fear, loneliness, and seasons when simply continuing required more effort than I expected.
My faith hasn’t prevented difficult experiences.
It has influenced how I move through them.
It’s given me somewhere to return when I’m confused.
Something to hold onto when I don’t have answers.
A reason to examine how I’m living, what I’m cultivating, and whether the life I’m building actually reflects what I say I believe.
That’s the faithfully part.
For me, flourishing isn’t about creating a life that looks impressive from the outside.
It’s about becoming more aligned with the Most High from the inside out.
I’m Still on the Journey
That’s important for me to say.
I’m not creating Flourishing Faithfully because I’ve mastered faith, healing, growth, or life.
Absolutely not. 😂
I’m still learning.
I’m still asking questions.
I’m still discovering things about myself.
I’m still noticing old habits and returning when I realize I’ve drifted.
And I’m becoming increasingly comfortable saying I don’t know when I genuinely don’t know.
I think there’s value in sharing from there.
Not standing at the end of the road telling everyone else how to get here.
Walking.
Learning.
Paying attention.
And occasionally looking over and saying:
“Oh! I learned something here. Maybe this will help you too.”
That’s much closer to what I want Flourishing Faithfully to be.
I’ve Learned a Lot by Participating in My Own Life
Some of what I’ll share here comes from studying Scripture.
Some comes from reflection.
Some comes from experiences I never expected to teach me anything until much later.
I’ve traveled alone.
I’ve trekked mountains.
I’ve pushed myself physically and discovered limitations I needed to respect.
I’ve spent plenty of time journaling, thinking, praying, asking questions, and trying to understand why I respond to certain things the way I do.
I’ve also learned through relationships, work, disappointment, mistakes, therapy, family, friendship, grief, and simply getting older.
Apparently life has a rather extensive curriculum. 😆
And one thing I’ve learned is that growth doesn’t always announce itself while it’s happening.
Sometimes I recognize it afterward.
I respond differently than I once would have.
I notice something I previously overlooked.
I speak when I once would have remained silent.
I rest when I once would have pushed myself.
I return sooner when I recognize that I’ve drifted.
Those moments matter to me.
What You’ll Find Here
The Reflections on Flourishing Faithfully will give me room to explore different parts of that journey.
Sometimes we’ll talk about finding and using our voices.
Sometimes we’ll examine the voices inside our own minds.
We’ll explore faith through experiences, travel, and nature.
We’ll talk about rest, patience, trust, and the different seasons we move through.
And here, in Sacred Soil, we’ll explore what we’re cultivating beneath all of it.
Because I’ve become increasingly interested in a question that goes deeper than:
What’s happening in my life?
I also want to know:
What’s being cultivated in me while it’s happening?
What am I learning?
What am I carrying?
What needs to be released?
What deserves to be nurtured?
What kind of person am I becoming through the choices I repeatedly make?
Those are questions I don’t expect to answer once.
I think they’re questions worth returning to.
Why Share Any of This?
Because I’ve benefited tremendously from other people being willing to share what they’ve learned.
Sometimes someone’s story gave me language for something I couldn’t explain.
Sometimes a different perspective helped broaden my own.
Sometimes I simply needed the reminder that another person had struggled with something too.
Connection matters.
And I believe our experiences can sometimes serve someone beyond ourselves when we’re willing to share them.
Not everything I write will apply to everyone.
It shouldn’t.
We’re different people having different experiences.
My hope is much simpler:
Take what speaks to where you are. Consider what challenges you. Leave what doesn’t belong to your journey right now.
And perhaps something I share will encourage you to explore your own thoughts, ask your own questions, or return to the Most High for yourself.
So, Welcome
Flourishing Faithfully is growing.
And so am I.
I imagine both will continue changing as I learn, create, experience more of life, and understand more about what it means for me to live faithfully.
That’s okay.
Growth should change things.
What I hope remains consistent is the heart behind this space:
A place for honest reflection.
A place where faith doesn’t require pretending.
A place where questions are allowed.
A place where growth can take time.
A place where both belong: the things we’re grateful for and the things we’re still working through.
And a place where we can keep returning to what matters.
So this is where I’m beginning.
Not because I’ve arrived.
Because I’m willing to keep growing.
Welcome to Flourishing Faithfully. ❤️
